About This Service

Professional Ear Care That Comes to Your Door

Getting to a clinic isn’t always straightforward. Mobility difficulties, caring responsibilities, transport challenges, or simply feeling unwell can all make an appointment feel like too much of an obstacle — and that means some people simply go without the ear care they need.

At Ear Rescue, we believe everyone deserves access to professional ear care, regardless of their circumstances. Our home visit service brings everything we do in our clinic directly to your home — the same specialist equipment, the same experienced practitioner, and the same quality of care.

Whether you’re elderly, have limited mobility, are recovering from surgery, caring for someone else, or simply prefer the convenience and comfort of being seen at home, our home visit service is here for you.

Home visit pricing is available on request — please call us on 07943 716490 or email info@earrescue.uk to discuss your needs and arrange an appointment.

Who It's For

Our Home Visit Service Is Ideal For…

Limited Mobility

If you have difficulty walking, use a wheelchair, or find travel physically challenging, a home visit removes the barrier entirely. You receive the same professional care without any of the strain of getting to a clinic.

Elderly Patients

Older patients often find ear wax a recurring problem, yet travelling to a clinic can be difficult. Our home visit service ensures that age or frailty never becomes a reason to miss out on effective, comfortable ear care.

Those Recovering or Unwell

If you're recovering from illness, surgery, or a period of poor health and can't easily leave the house, we'll come to you. Comfortable, clean, and professional — even when you're not feeling your best.

Carers and Parents

If you care for someone else and can't easily leave for an appointment, or need treatment for a child or dependent in a familiar, reassuring setting, a home visit makes things significantly easier.

No Transport Available

In rural Lincolnshire, getting to a clinic without a car can be a real challenge. We cover Boston and surrounding areas — if you're unsure whether we can reach you, just give us a call and we'll do our best to help.

Those Who Simply Prefer It

Some patients simply prefer the comfort and privacy of their own home. There's no medical reason needed — if a home visit works better for you, it works better for us too.

How It Works

What Happens During a Home Visit

Your home visit follows exactly the same process as a clinic appointment — we simply bring everything to you.

1

Book by phone or email

Home visit appointments are arranged by phone or email so we can discuss your needs, confirm your location, and agree a time that works for you. Call us on 07943 716490 or email info@earrescue.uk.

2

We arrive at your home

Our practitioner arrives at the agreed time with all necessary equipment — otoscope, microsuction unit, irrigation equipment, and everything needed for a thorough, professional appointment.

3

Full ear examination

We begin with a proper examination of both ears, assessing what's present and determining the most appropriate treatment method — exactly as we would in our clinic.

4

Treatment carried out

Using microsuction, irrigation, or a combination of both as appropriate, we remove the wax carefully and comfortably. You can sit or recline in whatever position is most comfortable for you.

5

Aftercare advice before we leave

Before we go, we'll check the results of the treatment and share any aftercare guidance relevant to your situation — including when to book your next appointment if needed.

Practical Information

What to Know Before We Arrive

What space do you need?

We need a well-lit room and a chair or space where you can sit or recline comfortably. A dining chair or armchair works perfectly. We bring everything else we need — you don't need to prepare anything special.

Should I use ear drops beforehand?

If possible, using olive oil or clinically approved ear drops for 3–5 days before your visit is helpful, particularly if irrigation is likely to be used. If you're unable to do this, please let us know — we'll work with what's there.

How long will the visit take?

Most home visits take between 45 minutes and an hour from arrival to departure, allowing time for the examination, treatment, and a chat about aftercare without any rush.

What areas do you cover?

We cover Boston and the surrounding areas of Lincolnshire. If you're unsure whether you're within our service area, please call us on 07943 716490 and we'll confirm. We'll always try to accommodate requests where we can.

Symptoms We Can Help With

You Don't Have to Live With Blocked Ears

Difficulty travelling shouldn't mean difficulty hearing. If you or someone you care for is experiencing any of the following, a home visit from Ear Rescue can help.

Blocked or muffled hearing Reduced hearing Ringing or tinnitus Earache or discomfort Feeling of fullness in the ear Dizziness or imbalance Visible wax build-up Recurring wax blockages

If you or the person you’re booking for is experiencing sudden hearing loss, severe pain, or discharge from the ear, please contact a GP promptly. We’re happy to advise over the phone about whether symptoms need urgent GP attention or whether a home visit is the right course of action.
